If you have not heard Sojourner Truth’s “Ain’t I a Woman” speech during the mid 19th century, then I advise you to read it immediately! Her moving words evoke the activist inside all of us and demand equality among all genders and races. The fight for women’s rights holds many similarities with the fight to abolish slavery in the 19th and 20th century and yet both gender inequality and racism still exist today. The issue of gender inequality is still looming around society today as seen in the wage gap, lower authority work positions, household responsibilities, stereotypes, and more! I hope that by reading this blog you feel inspired to continue the fight for equality begun by these brave women. Here are a few suggestions you can implement into your everyday life to continue the fight for equality among genders.
Rock on with your bad self!
